ABM – Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiative

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has revolutionized numerous sectors, including education, healthcare, and industry. Recognizing its transformative potential, ABM, in collaboration with AI experts has launched the ABM – AI Initiative. This program aims to integrate AI into education and research, equipping students, educators, and the community with cutting-edge AI knowledge and tools. The initiative focuses on fostering AI-driven solutions for enhanced learning and boosting student performance. The key industry collaborators are: ZennAI, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman Data Park, and James Ong, the esteemed author of ‘AI for Humanity,’ By engaging with AI professionals and researchers, ABM seeks to cultivate an ecosystem where AI knowledge is accessible, practical, and impactful. The initiative has four phases: awareness, framework development, implementation and evaluation. Awareness includes needs assessments and training of stakeholders, framework development includes policy and SOP making, implementation will vary based on need and evaluation will tell us how successful we were.
For awareness we completed a needs assessment and training with ZennAI and SQU/Oman Datapark, which provided us with a report of each department’s readiness for AI and helping us set improvement areas. The framework consultant is the AI Expert and author, James Ong. His insights through his book AI for Humanity serve as a backbone for our way forward with policy development. We have begun implementing some AI bots in various departments, use AI for meeting minutes, generation of documentations, publication and improvement of instructional delivery/ lesson planning and assessment generation. At the end of the academic year, we will conduct an evaluation.
